Server Installation - Unix or Linux
A Unix or Linux based installation package usually comes as a tar.gz bundle, contents of which may be extracted to a specific directory. Upon extraction, one must run a special script, called smconfig (located under bin/ directory), to configure and build a new properties file for the server. Below is a screenshot of a sample configuration process:
The bundle is self-sufficient in itself to configure and run the SM server. However, a custom bundle installation or a trained professional module-based installation may also be used to setup the resulting environment.
